I'm a Wisconsin writer who has built a career on telling stories about local people doing remarkable things--artists, teachers, farmers, everyday people affecting change.

But my passion is writing stories about equity in the Madison community, where it works and where it's broken.

I live on Madison's east side, with my darling grandson Damien frequently at my side. He and my twin daughters, Maura and Nina (his mother), are often the inspiration behind what I write.
